Lots of exciting performances coming up this summer.
First up is the class reading for the 9-week poetry class I took this spring, taking place at Botanica Bar on Sunday June 6th at 6pm. Come snuggle into a cozy booth and hear the bunch of us read some new work! More info here.
Less than a week later, I’ll be joining the always entertaining Andria Alefhi and Veronica Liu for a night of zine readings at Word Up Community Bookshop on Friday, June 12th at 7pm. I love these ladies and I’m extra psyched about this one. More info here.
Finally, I’ve been invited to participate in a Poetry & Stories evening at a Brooklyn community garden, which is sure to be sweet and delightful. Join me and three other talented writers on Saturday, July 11th at 3:30pm in the East 4th St Community Garden in Kensington (between Fort Hamilton Parkway and Caton Ave).
Thanks as always for your support!

Number one! I will be reading at Word Up Community Bookshop on Thursday, August 29th at 7pm with several other awesome and talented ladies. Come on out and support zines, local writers, and this rad new space in its permanent home.
Number two! I will be published in the upcoming issue of Hoax, on the theme of feminism and vulnerabilities. I’m simultaneously thrilled and freaked out about this one, which is, I guess, par for the course.

This just in! I will be reading on the theme of nostalgia, along with my dear friends Katie Haegele and Eryn Loeb, at Bluestockings on Sunday May 26th at 7pm.

Join contributors Tiffany Stevens, Gus Iversen, Betsy Housten, Josh Medsker, Aditi Sriram, Veronica Liu and moderator/WNHP founder Andria Alefhi for an evening as they read selections from We’ll Never Have Paris – Greatest Hits (Microcosm Press).
We’ll Never Have Paris is a print-only lit zine of narrative nonfiction that centers on the theme “all things never meant to be.”

Awesome news! I’ve been invited to perform as one of two featured readers at Bluestockings’ monthly Women’s/Trans Poetry Jam on Tuesday, September 25th.
This event has been happening at Bluestockings for 13 years, about as long as the store has been in existence, and has showcased all sorts of writers, from the totally famous to the variously up-and-coming to the mostly unknown (that’s me!). Despite its name, it’s not just for poetry – people perform all sorts of things, from stories to novel chapters to the occasional musical break, and it’s always a fun mix. It starts at 7pm, there’s an open mic section first and then the featured readers will read for about 25 minutes each. After being an audience member many times, and an occasional open-mic contributor, I’m thrilled to be a part of it as a headliner! Here’s the official announcement:
Women’s / Trans’ Poetry Jam & Open Mike
Tuesday Sept 25th at 7pm
Featured Writers: Gina Inzunza & Betsy Housten
Gina Inzunza’s poetry enlists dramatic voices, humor and a variety of forms to champion the underdog and those who often go unnoticed. Her poems feature characters who search for meaning in adversity, discover their own unique voice and stumble upon ways to celebrate life.
Betsy Housten writes the annual zine You Know Better, exploring queer life in Brooklyn and comprising stories and poems that leave a great deal unanswered.
$5 suggested donation
Hosted by Vittoria repetto – the hardest working guinea butch dyke poet on the lower east side

It’s spring! Like, any minute now! And what better way to celebrate the end of an epic winter than with a fresh new dose of zine therapy, old-school self-published style? (Answer: none). Come on out of hibernation and join some fabulously articulate lady zinesters as we bring our quarterly show to yet another lucky, lucky venue. There might even be flip-flops.
